Matthew Stark/Reign

Matthew Stark is the descendant of the famous entrepreneur cum superhero, Tony Stark who is also known as the IronMan. However the child did not know of his prestigious lineage until he was much older. Ever since he was born, the Stark family had ensured that he would not be harassed by the media nor pampered by the attention he would received. As such, the young child was sent overseas at the age of 2 and had grown up like an ordinary child.

While he was in school, the genius in his genes kicked in allowing him to score well in many of his tests and examinations. It was also during these times when he discovered his love for machines. The young Matthew would fiddle with the simple machines at home, opening them up to see how they were constructed and leaving them later in a devastated state. His mother would always scold him for his unusual past-time but that never did deter him from doing what he loved. The years passed by quickly and young Matthew grew up to become a charismatic young man. His character attracted many people to flutter around him and as such, he became a popular teenager amongst his crowd, much like his predecessor, Tony Stark.

When he eventually turned 18, he returned back to New York where he come back into the embrace of his family. The family business, Stark Industries, had been crumpling after the death of Tony Stark and the other CEOs that took charge of the company never did bring back the glory that the company once held. Matthew as a young, ambitious man, held great visions for the family business. However he was never given the right opportunity to show what he could really do. The board of directors saw that Matthew was merely a child and was afraid to let him shoulder the future prospect of the Stark Industries. As such, the young man was only given the role as the Head of the Research and Development Department. Even this was a setback for young Matthew, he never did give up on his dream that the Stark Industries would one day prosper under his rule.

As he worked in the R&D department, his interest for machines had once again begun to surface. He took hold of any opportunity to gain new knowledge about the technology. Later, Matthew as the heir to the family business would be given the key to Tony Stark's private lodgings. In time, as fate would will it, Matthew Stark would stumble into the late Tony Stark's private apartment to find the hidden doorway to the latter's laboratory. It would be then when Matthew would glanced upon the legendary IronMan armor that Tony Stark himself had designed and worn. His life would change at that very moment when he placed his hand on the cool metal armor. He would study the armor for days and nights, just to discover its secrets. Using the IronMan armor as a guide, Matthew began to work on his own project which would later be known as Project Reign. Project Reign was basically a high-technological armor which was based on the original IronMan suit. Matthew made several adjustments to Reign and soon the armor was ready.

Being the heir to a big company came with the danger of being attacked every now and then by kidnappers and business enemy. A few days after the completion of the Project Reign Mach 1, Matthew was attacked by a group of mutants known as the Brotherhood. Their purpose was simple, they wanted Matthew in exchange for their fellow comrades who had been sent to the prison. Seeing that his bodyguards would easily be overwhelmed by these mutants, Matthew hurried to his secret laboratory and launches his creation for the first time. The machine still had many flawed but it still did its job as Matthew wiped out the aggressors. The victory he tasted that day was so sweet that he soon became addicted to. He loved the sensation of being a hero and being cheered on by the public. It was then did he decided that, he, Matthew Stark would follow in his predecessor's footstep and become a great super hero.
