The Avengers Prologue I
One by one the lights in the streets began to flicker and shine as the clock struck 7. The evening air was suddenly filled with a festive atmosphere as masses of people burst into the streets. They chattered with one another as they walked towards their desired destination. Some of them had already made reservations in the restaurants while others lingered in the streets wondering where they should go. Cars, vans and buses on the road were barely moving. The streets had been so packed that it was truly a nightmare for any driver. They honked and honked in desperation, trying to hasten the traffic congestion but the noise only had only serve to increase their irritation and discomfort.
A young man grinned at the sight below him as he took up his wine glass and brought the liquid into his mouth. The wine swirled in his mouth as he savored the taste and then slowly and gently, he allowed the liquid to glide slowly down his throat. He placed the glass back onto the table and smacked his lips. He had never really learn how to appreciate wine and thus those hypocritical actions that he had just done were merely practice in case there were important company. The young man tapped the window with his finger playfully as he watched the streets from the top of the Stark Tower. He was in the private lodgings which was once belonged to his predecessor, Anthony Stark. What was his name, you asked? Well, this young man was Matthew Stark. He rose from his comfy seat and walked closer to the window, his eyes looking closely at the scene below but if he was to be more precise, he was looking for trouble.
Trouble. Nobody should ever go looking for them. Ever. Back on the streets, a man wearing the hoody jacket accompanied by two others had took to the crowd. They struggled to walk against the flow of the human traffic, trying to get as close to the road as they possibly could. They pushed and rubbed against all those who were blocking their passage, never once stopping to apologize. Soon enough, they were standing right beside the road where vehicles were still stuck in the congestion. The leader of this group, removed his hood which revealed young teenager with long blazing red hair. The young boy tapped on the window of the nearest vehicle and hand signaled the driver to pull down his side window. Obediently, the old and obese man in the car agreed and as he did so, the young boy began to speak in a rather impolite manner.
"You should get off your car right now." commanded the young boy. The man shook his head as if he had heard something outrageous and he quickly retorted, "Why the hell should I do that for, you young punk?". The young boy took a step back and shrugged, he looked at his companion in a what-more-can-I-do sort of way and simply muttered "i warned you, Homo-sapiens."
What followed next may be too violent for young children to see or hear and as such, I wish those who have a weak stomach to step away from their computer right away.
The young man lifted his hand and faced his palm upon the vehicle. He glared at man in dangerously manner and quite suddenly, his palm began to glow and soon after it was ablaze. The young mutant pulled back his arm and threw a huge ball of fire straight at the man. The man was horrified but he had no time to escape, after all, he had already declined his one and only chance to do so. The huge fireball crashed into his face, burning off every bit of skin on his head, wiping off the fearful expression that no one would ever see again. His eyes were blinded by the sheer light and they melted quickly away at the intense heat. The old driver would have felt the burning sensation as the flames kissed his lips and burnt his tongue into crisp. His head were totally burnt off except for the bones and teeth which remained, however this little details did not matter as the fireball had resulted in greater damage. The flames had ignited the fuel in the vehicle resulting in a rapid combustion which ended in a huge explosion.
The impact of blast sent the human and vehicles alike flying in every direction. Cries of fear and horror could be heard as they scrambled onto their feet and made for a hectic escape. However, there were some who had been trapped by the vehicles when they were thrown off by the explosion. Smokes rose from the debris while fire began to spread. The small group of mutants walked out of the smoke in a triumphant manner. The leader of the group led out a menacing laughter as he said "Humans, hear this! It is time to bow to your true masters, we, the Homo-Superiors!"
Being a hero, there were days when everything seemed perfect and there were days when your whole world seemed to be crumpling. There were innocent civilians to be rescued from under the cars and mutants to be punished. Upon seeing the explosion in the streets, young Matthew had immediately took off to his storage room where his high-tech armor awaited him. Tonight, he will be Reign once more.

| Admist the panic and incessant screams, Lavi rose up from his seat, seemingly irritated by the disruption. Hues of red and orange inundated the sky like carnations of different colours in full bloom, with smouldering smoke trailing behind. There goes my evening...sigh. Why won't people like to get along. Sipping the last of his Cuppucino, Lavi nimbly rushed towards the source of the disturbance. It seemed like the culprit was no older than Lavi himself, and probably even younger. The youngster was hurling barrages of flames in all directions while cackling in the most uncouth manner.
Impudent! I will teach you not to be so cocky after spoiling a perfect family night. 'Hey cupcake. How about some toast?' It was a provocative taunt, and Lavi had a good reason for initiating it. The youngster was surprised but did not cower, and he glared at the stranger who had just appeared out of nowhere.
'Who are you picking on?!' It turned out that the young boy was not alone. Three other guys stood forward, and Lavi could sense latent powers emitting from the trio as well. Well well, maybe I SHOULD have stuck to my own business. Four versus one, it seems I have lost all advantages. What shall I do now hmm? A blazing orb of energy was tussled towards the psychic, which Lavi managed to avoid just in time.

| DingThe bell in the elevator sounded and its door gently slide open with a start. Matthew Stark who just got into his suit of high-tech armor, stepped into the elevator which seemed to dip for a moment at the sheer weight of the hero. Looking through his metal mask, the young man clicked on the button which blinked the number of the last floor. The doors of the lift closed after a second or two and slowly but surely, it started to rise. Reign took a step back and lean of the walls of the elevator, he folded his arms and began tapping his feet on the floor. The young man lifted his head, thinking that all this was rather amusing. One would surely think that a superhero such as him would have broken through the windows and flown down to rescue the civilians but no, this was not what Reign had done. With the intentions of avoiding any unwanted destruction to the Stark Tower, the young hero had chosen to take the lift and fly down from the roof instead. Rather amusing, the child thought. A moment later, the bell of the lift sounded once again and its door opened. This time, it revealed a single corridor which led to a lonesome door at the far end. Reign walked swiftly to the end of the corridor and pushed open the wooden door, revealing the night sky which was gradually being polluted by the smoke of the fire. Matthew Stark glanced towards the edge of the building. He took in a deep breathe and readied himself, before he broke into a run and leaped off the building. The young man never did enjoy the adrenaline rush he experienced during the free fall. " Activate Thrusters." A soft whizzing noise sounded from his back and almost instantaneously, a stream of energy gradually emitted from his back thrusters which slowed his fall and lifted him into the sky. He gazed towards the crowd and watched as some brave soul confronted the perpetrator. But no sooner had he done so, did the latter sent a blazing ball of fire towards him. The brave soul avoided the attack but that would only mean the blast was headed towards the tower. Seeing that his property was about to get de-valued, the young man headed straight for the fireball, his thrusters pushing him to fall faster. Reign lifted his hand and faced his palm towards the blazing energy ball. The gauntlet glowed with a start and seconds later, a energy blast of his own flew straight into the fireball. The collision resulted in a minute explosion, one which barely hurt anybody. The sudden explosion had caught the attention of most of the civilians including the perpetrators as well. Some of them pointed in excitement while others narrowed their eyes to get a better view with all the smoke in the air. Mutters of "It's Iron-Man!" sounded through the streets but others shook their heads in disagreement, knowing full well that Anthony "Tony" Stark had passed away. Beneath the iron mask, Matthew Stark grinned as he slowly flew out of the smoke, to allow the public to catch a better view of him. His silver and blue armor glimmered in the night as its owner enjoyed increased mutterings of the people. Well, not all of the people were looking at him in awe, the mutants seemed outraged while the brave man who stood up seemed totally uninterested. " Silence! You fools! Have you forgotten the fear!" the leader of the four screamed in rage as he plunged his hands into the air, shooting out another blast of fireball. Once again, Reign was able to stop it by firing one of his Repulsor. The night was once again brightened by the explosion. The expressions on the people's face turned from those of fear to those of hope. " The man got a point you know. You lot should really evacuate from here, its rather unsafe and things are just about to get uglier." Reign counseled the members of the public as they scrambled for shelter once again. " Well, I would like to know who you guys are actually." asked the man in the iron suit. The mutant grunted at his opposition's attitude and spat on the floor before saying, " I am Blazen and we are from the Brotherhood of Mutants and we are going to show these pitiful humans the strength of Homo-superiors. You, the champions of the Humans, shall be the first to fall." With that he swung his hands, throwing yet another barrage of fireballs at Reign. Reign managed to dodge most of the outright attacks and he smugly replied his opponent, " You just don't get it, do you? Remember this name, Reign, for I shall be the one to take you down!" Young Matthew flew forward with great speed with his right arm pulled back ready to send a punch into the mutant's face. However as he got closer to his target, one of the man's subordinate leaped out of nowhere. The latter pulled out a katana, slashing towards Reign. Seeing that the man had jumped out at the last moment, Reign could barely avoid the man's blow. He lifted his left arm to protect himself however, the blow was far too strong which pushed him away from his original flight course. Reign checked his armor to see a deep slash in it. He was sure that this mutant was not to be underestimated. The high-tech armor user flew up once more and started to blast his Repulsor at the katana-swinging mutant. If he was far enough, melee attacks would not be able to reach him. Meanwhile, the other three mutants looked ready to attack the other man on the ground. _____________________________________________________________________________________ NPC Profiles

| As the clock struck 7 , it was time to knock of from work at Stark Industries. Working at such a large company of weapons manufacturing was more tiring than it seemed, having to constantly being given orders to improve on the designs of Iron Tech Armour for whatever reasons, since the famous former President of the company already passed away. Now, Rioneru was working for a new head of the company, a young man which apparantly was the successor of the late Tony Stark. Just another ordinary day at work, it was boring, way too boring for the symbiote which lived within Rioneru, constantly wanting some action. It had been weeks since Genocide last got rid of any criminal scum, making his claws itch for some flesh to dig into. Well it seemed today would be his lucky day, or rather, lucky evening. There seemed to be a commotion outside the building. As Rioneru stepped out, whispers of "It's Iron Man..." could be heard. " Iron Man? How could that be? Tony's long gone..." he thought to himself. Rioneru stretched his neck a little to see what really was going on. What he saw were two figures seemingly ready to fight or already fighting another four. One of the figures had an orange scarf while the other wore an armour almost similiar to Iron Man's. Rioneru spotted the difference immediately between this armour and the classic Iron Man's, as he would stare at the armour blueprints all day in the office. " This looks interesting..." he muttered under his breath as he lightly tugged at his tie. It didnt take long to realise which side were the criminal scum he always tried so hard to hunt. Red-black liquid began to form around his body, covering his entire body in a matter of seconds. The symbiotic liquid covering his face forming rows of sharp teeth and covering his hands forming long sharp claws. Although he had just knocked off from work, it was now time to get to real work. - Quote :

As the mutant was about to cast another orb of energy, a string of symbiotic webbing was shot and caught the mutant's arm, preventing him from attacking. " Huh? What the..." the mutant turned around only to see a large black fist hitting him in his torso, with an impact so hard that it caused him to fly back several metres, hitting a stationary parked car in the process. SMASH! The mutant hit the car on impact, causing the car's security alarm to sound.

| The repulsor shots had met their targets, blasting the mutant into the ground. The blasts had left obvious burnt marks on his shirt and that only pissed him even more. Determined not to be beaten, the katana-wielding mutant charged up at his armored foe in rage. He leaped off the ground and raised his blade, ready to slice his enemy into two. Seeing his enemy attacking him in such a simplistic manner, Reign simply raised his hand and pointed his gauntlet at his simple-minded enemy. He waited for his foe to reach the right height before releasing a repulsor right in the face. As expected, the inexperienced mutant fell to the ground with his face smoking from the previous attack. He was not dead, he was simply unconscious. Reign looked wearily at his fallen foe and simply commented, "They don't ever learn, do they?"
Having dealt with one of the four mutants from the Brotherhood, Reign flew off to engage the fire-manipulating man. However, even before he could fire any blast at his opponent, the latter was grabbed by a black web-like substance and thrown into a vehicle. Reign quickly turned his focus on the one who had just launched that attack and saw a man fully covered with symbiotic substance. Reign shouted across at the symbiotic host, asking him, "Hey you! What's your name? Are you on our side?"
His question lingered in the air for a moment and just then, the fire-manipulating mutant from before took this second of opportunity and sent a huge blast of fireball at the armored hero. Having caught off guard, Reign took the attack head on and was blasted off from the air. He crashed onto the road, leaving a slight dent on the asphalt floor. Meanwhile, the third of this evil mutant team had lifted a vehicle with his mental prowess and from what Reign could see, the mutant was ready to throw it at him. |

" ..........." Genocide made no reply to the tin-man. He knew that the fight was not over, he didnt have time for a conversation...at least not now. At the corner of his eye, Genocide could see something bright. He turned and saw a mutant throw huge blast of fireball at the armored hero. It was a direct hit, causing the tin-man to fall onto the ground and causing a dent. Another member of the evil mutant team lifted a car with his psychic mind, preparing to throw it at the downed figure. Genocide knew he had to act fast before more damage was done. He shot more of his symbiotic web at that third mutant, pulling him towards himself, causing the vehicle to drop onto the ground with a loud crash. Fortunately no civilians were hurt when it dropped. Pulling the mutant to himself, he swung the mutant towards the other fire-hurling goon, causing both of them to knock into themselves. Momentarily, both of them were stunned. Genocide turned to look at the iron figure on the ground, " Finish them, they're all yours. If I go I'm afraid I wouldnt be able to control myself and stop."

| "Wait. I asked for your name, didn't I?" the armored hero asked as he stood up from the rubble that he was thrown in. The thrusters were activated, pushing him off the ground and into the air. He looked towards the two mutants that had attempted to bring him down previously. The two of them had fallen unconscious from the previous heavy impact on their heads. Reign looked about, seeking for the fourth mutant that was supposed to be here.
His eyes glanced quickly through the streets, seeking for the last of the villains, however it was a futile attempt. Just then, a gushing noise sounded from behind him and seconds later, a high pressure water blast hit him from the back, slamming him into the ground once again. The armored hero quickly got up and glanced towards the direction of the man who attacked him. As he had expected, the last of the evil mutants was standing atop the Stark Tower with an orb of water in his hand. Behind the mask, Matthew squinted his eyes and pondered what he should do. He could fly all the way to the top of the building to battle him there and risk damaging the building, or he could lead the perpetrator away from his asset and risk a close combat battle.
Determined to strike down the last of his foes, the thrusters beneath him activated and swiftly he cut through the air like a blazing arrow. Reign dodged the water cannons as he flew through the air and eventually when he reached the top of the tower, he charged straight for the mutant, slamming straight into the person's stomach. Reign brought him to the corner of the building and released him. The man screamed as he fell but a few feet away from the ground, a released a heavy gushed of water, saving himself. However, this was not yet the end of his misery. Reign had took this opportunity to fly down towards the mutant and as the latter stood upright once more, the armored hero plunged his fist into the mutant's face. His quickly followed that up by some quick blows into his torso and then throwing him up with a hooked punch. Reign charged his gauntlet as the man flew into the air and fired it, completely defeating his foe. The man fell to the ground, unconscious. The battle was over, the heroes had won this time but not without a heavy price. The mutants had instilled fear and hatred within their counterparts, the humans.
Reign flew towards the symbiotic host and reached out his hand to shake the latter's. "Nice working with you. I am restarting an old initiative and I am currently recruiting aspiring heroes. It will be called the Avengers." The fearful crowd that were hiding from the attackers had begun to emerge as they clapped for their heroes. The psychic personnel(Lavi) that was there previously had also disappeared. The four mutants from the Brotherhood lay unconscious on the floor. However, all that matters was whether the symbiotic host was going to the agree the the armored man. |

- "Wait. I asked for your name, didn't I?"
" Yes you did, but at the wrong time. They call me Genocide." said Genocide as he reached out his large clawed hand to shake the metallic one. The two heroes looking at each other's masked faces as if they could see each other's eyes. " If putting criminals like these out of their misery is what the Avengers will allow me to do, then count me in. Always needed someone to watch me when I'm fighting, sometimes I get a little out of control." Genocide turned to look at the pathetic mutants on the ground. He wondered if this was just the beginning to something even worse. Whatever it was, having just two people on a team wasnt going to be enough. He needed more like himself and Reign if they wanted to stand a chance over super-powered villains. Suddenly, he remembered the psychic personnel(Lavi) that was there previously. Genocide pondered for a moment, then said, " Why not we let the police clean this mess up? Let's pay the X-mansion a visit. I've got questions, and I think the mutants have answers..."
