History of Lodestone:

Lodestone grew up in a regular city and lived a regular life until his body was screwed over by an insane professor's mad experiment. The resulting explosion in the lab released a toxin that corrupted the blood of him and some of his fellow townsfolk. Some of the folk died from the corruption. The rest were left with strange powers that were as varied as those of mutants but caused by unnatural means. Richard and a few of his friends tried to save whom they could, but it was futile. 30 of them survived. The man who caused it all is dead as far as they know. And thus, they all went their separate ways. Richard decided to go to the famous mutant stronghold of the Xavier Institute because his powers had made him a freak, his body covered with a strange metal.

History of joining the X-Men:

When Richard arrived at the Institute, he was examined and found out to be not truly a mutant. He and his comrade were accepted begrudgingly because they were mutated, but their presence is a bit unappreciated by the true blue mutants. Still, Richard has made a home here, and he looks forward to learning more about the limits of his powers and his destiny.

Profession:

Lodestone is a relatively new student, but he is quite skilled in hand-to-hand combat because he studying kickboxing and wrestled during his regular life. As a result, he has risen further and faster than he might ususally have done had he been a true mutant. Plus, because he lived a regular life longer than most mutants, Richard has basically no need to take normal classes, merely ones on power and combat development. Still, Lodestone is only about the rank of a second to last year student.
